In this episode, Rob and Dana talk to Kate Davenport, LCSW-C. Kate is a foster parent recruiter and trainer in Montgomery County, Maryland. Kate talks about the process of becoming a foster parent, what the expectations are, and she address some of the common myths about foster parenting.

Kate Davenport, LCSW-C earned her MSW from the University of Maryland in 2013 and is now in her seventh year with Montgomery County Child Welfare Services. She has always worked with youth and was a drama teacher before coming to social work. Kate is part of the Foster and Adoptive Parent Services team. She specializes in foster parent recruitment, training, and licensure. Kate loves her work and is honored to work with so many wonderful social workers and foster parents. When she is not at work, she is a wife, mother, chauffeur, Girl Scout leader, cat-lover, crossword-puzzler, and Beatles enthusiast.
