Fostering Change Podcast | Episode 115 | John and Jack Barlow
On this weeks episode of Fostering Change we have an incredible conversation with John and Jack Barlow!
In this podcast we discuss, the inspiration for Fresh Wolf, the impact the business has had on foster care in Utah, what is coming for the business and much more!
John is a success story, from a Foster Care perspective. He spent a short period of time in Foster Care as a baby and was adopted by parents that provided an excellent life. He grew up in various states around the country and had incredible experiences from every location. He started his career in a sales capacity at a few different companies and then started VIDA Tequila with his wife, Lisa Barlow, in the early 2000’s. Along with VIDA, they have started additional companies including Fresh Wolf – which they created alongside their two sons, Jack (17) and Henry (10). John and Lisa wanted their boys to understand what it takes to create and run a business as well as give back to their community. Jack created the give-back program associated with Fresh Wolf which involves donating a 2-in-1 shampoo/body wash with every product purchase.
Outside of work, John loves being active including playing various sports, mountain biking and especially hiking in the mountains with Lisa. He also enjoys watching Jack and Henry play basketball and helps out where he can.
Jack is a wonderful kid with a huge heart. Jack is the reason Fresh Wolf came to be – asking his parents if they could help create a men’s grooming product line with him. He is currently in 11th grade focusing on going to college after graduation. He is taking college-level business classes, involved with FBLA and also DECA. His goals include either playing basketball for Duke University or going to college in Miami. He has always had an innate business savvy and a keen understanding on how businesses work. Jack is known by many to have created business plans on post-it notes and white boards at the early age of 4. He is continuously coming up with ways to promote Fresh Wolf on his many social media platforms. Jack is known throughout his school and community as someone who makes everyone feel welcome. You will likely find him introducing himself to new students and inviting them to participate in whatever activity he has going on.
