Comfort Cases is a global nonprofit organization focused on providing comfort, personal care items, and bags to youth served by the child welfare system. Too many youth are given trash bags to carry their belongings in when they come into care and then move from placement to placement. Our goal is to provide these youth with needed items, support, and a sense of pride.
Through this new program, all social service agencies within North Carolina can place orders to receive FREE Comfort Cases® backpacks and Comfort XL Duffle Bags. This collaboration between Comfort Cases and Healthy Blue Care Together helps to ensure dignity and support for children served by the child welfare system.
All social service agencies within North Carolina can place orders for Comfort Cases® and Comfort XL’s.
Each Comfort Case is a backpack filled with brand-new items, including pajamas, socks, a blanket, a stuffed animal, a hygiene kit, a dental kit, and other age-appropriate supplies. Comfort Cases® provide comfort and the essentials for children – from newborns to teens – needs for the first few nights in the child welfare system. For more specific information about the contents of Comfort Cases® for infants, children, and teens, please visit our What’s a Comfort Case page.
The Comfort XL is a 32-inch duffel bag that folds up to easily fit in a backpack or on an office shelf, in a desk drawer, or in the trunk of a car. Social workers and police officers in North Carolina can receive Comfort XL duffel bags to give to children when they are removed from their homes.
