In May, Blue Cross NC’s Healthy Blue Medicaid plan teamed up with Comfort Cases to host a “Packing Party” where hundreds of backpacks were filled with new personal care items for youth entering the foster care system. On Saturday, June 11, NC First Lady Kristin Cooper attended the Children’s Home Society Raleigh Family Picnic to distribute 60 of the cases. While there, she met with children, families, and prospective foster parents and celebrated the Triangle’s local foster care community.

The Children’s Home Society’s annual Family Picnic is one in a series of statewide events held throughout North Carolina to celebrate the guardians and families who are dedicated to supporting the state’s children in the foster care system.
