Local kids in foster care to receive ‘Comfort Cases’
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Some local kids in foster care will be gifted some special “Comfort Cases” this holiday season.
Volunteers gathered at at a community center in Mission Valley Thursday morning to load backpacks with a variety of items, such as clothing, blankets, toys, books, pajamas, dental kits, among many other things.
For those unfamiliar with the cause, Comfort Cases are backpacks filled with comfort and personal care items for youth in the foster care system.
“These kids don’t have anything and there’s foster kids all around our country,” said a volunteer at the packing event. “What a great way to support these kids and make sure that they feel a little bit of dignity in their lives.”
Anyone can get involved in the initiative; it’s as easy as donating online.
It appears the holiday spirit is alive and well in Mission Valley as many work to prepare these bags for kids who need them most.
