When children are entering the foster care system, they are provided a trash bag and told to grab all their treasured belongings. When a child’s possessions are thrown into a trash bag, they are not receiving a positive message about their worth and value as members of the community. Every child deserves to feel a sense of dignity and hope. Every child deserves a Comfort Case that includes a blanket, a stuffed animal, toiletries and more!
We will have local drop-off locations throughout Virginia, Maryland, and DC (full list provided below). You can also donate from around the world using our online donation list!

National Adoption Awareness Month is observed every November to raise awareness about the thousands of children in foster care awaiting permanent families. This month is dedicated to educating communities, encouraging adoption, and supporting adoptive families. It’s a time to recognize the importance of every child’s right to a loving, stable home and to honor the selfless commitment of those who open their hearts and homes through adoption.
Courts and organizations in more than 400 communities across the country have opened their doors on the Saturday before Thanksgiving (November 22) to finalize and celebrate adoptions from foster care. National Adoption Day has recognized more than 85,000 children moving from foster care to a permanent family.
