Two national nonprofits focused on foster care join forces with a corporate titan–Mercedes-Benz USA, a philanthropist and a woman-owned business to provide college care packages to collegians aging out of foster care.

Atlanta, GA and Rockville, MD (October 13, 2020) – The nsoro Educational Foundation, located in Atlanta, Georgia is a national nonprofit that provides post-secondary scholarships to youth aging out of foster care. Comfort Cases, located in Rockville, MD, is a national nonprofit whose mission provides dignity and comfort to youth of all ages in foster care by providing them with backpacks filled with personal items. The two organizations collaborated with one goal in mind, super serve collegians aging out of foster care. Their efforts resulted in the quintessential college care package filled with essentials for optimal learning and packaged with items that make students feel loved and supported. On Monday, October 12, nsoro and their alumni volunteers will assemble packages in their Atlanta headquarters.

nsoro secured partnerships with one national corporation, a philanthropist and Georgia based SUTHINGIRL https://suthingirl.com/  to donate product for boxes of “mama love” noted Ashley Stamoulis, Founder.

Erica J. Bolden, Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Corporate Social Responsibility at Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) generously donated herringbone blankets, backpacks, special water bottles, eco-friendly kitchen ware on behalf of MBUSA and philanthropist Lindsey Craft-Goins bigheartedly donated Microsoft Office software to the entire 2020 cohort of new scholarship recipients. SUTHINGIRL donated highly curated gifts from her world-renowned subscription box. nsoro’s collaborative care package checks all the boxes, addressing their scholars’ needs and wish list.

“Our missions are different yet similar in that we want to support and help youth in foster care, no matter their age, because we know they are struggling and are making difficult decisions every day. This partnership is incredible and we were happy to send along our filled comfort cases and duffle bags to nsoro so they can then get them into the hands of their amazing scholars,” said Rob Scheer, Comfort Cases Co-Founder.

“Our scholars are gladiators with G.R.I.T., greatness rising in time! But even warriors need a soft place to land at the end of the day. That is what we endeavored to create with this year’s College Care Package, a gentle reminder that our collegians are not alone. From fun items to the essentials, like software, this collaboration will serve as a resounding reminder that our young people are part of an even larger family of corporate and community partners that are committed to their success,” said Monica Pantoja, Executive Director, The nsoro Educational Foundation.
