On Saturday, August 19, 2023, the Ellsworth Moose Lodge#2698 joined forces with the local Maine chapter of Comfort Cases to donate backpacks and Tommy Moose dolls to help bring help and awareness to the struggles of children entering into Maine foster care system. The Northeast Moose Association district meeting was hosted by the Ellsworth Moose Lodge#2698. Christie Foster, the moose lodge’s administrator and Lesley Robinson, local Comfort Cases volunteer, explained the mission and the reason these backpacks and Tommy Moose dolls were so crucial to the trauma that children go through when entering into Maine’s foster care system. The Comfort Cases program has been a beacon of hope for children entering into the foster care system.

Rob Scheer, CEO of Comfort Cases Zoomed in to give an informational and emotional account of what his life was like in the foster care system, and what led him to start his nonprofit organization.

The meeting was attended by Moose leadership from Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont (Northeast Moose Association).
