When Disaster Strikes, We Show Up Together
When a community is hit by a natural disaster, children bear some of the heaviest burdens, and they process those experiences very differently than adults do.
Project:Camp responds within 48 hours of a disaster, popping up free, trauma-informed day camps to give children structure, normalcy, and social-emotional support while their families and communities begin to recover. In five years, Project:Camp has provided nearly 50,000 hours of free programming for kids impacted by disasters across the United States, from the LA wildfires to Hurricane Helene to Hurricane Ian.
Comfort Cases ensures that every child in those communities has the essential and comfort items they need to feel seen, supported, and cared for – a backpack filled with more than supplies. A message that says: you matter, and someone showed up for you.
Together, we are making sure that when disaster strikes, no child faces it without support!
